Teaching Interests
His main teaching covers Industrial Automation from Licence 3 to Master 1 levels (hour and student counts are per year), to Electrical Engineering (EE) department students of INSA Lyon
Main current teachings
- PLC programing, from basic to advanced systems (60h of projects and labs to 100 L3-M2 students)
- Real time design of embedded systems: RTOS, microcontrolers (40h of lectures and labs to 120 M2 students), see Fig. 1
- Industrial Networks: CanOpen, Profibus/Profinet, Industrial Ethernet … (25h of lectures and labs to M2 students)
- Robotics: cobotics and advanced robotic systems (20h of lectures and projects to 20 M2 students)
Other teachings:
- Introduction to Systems Engineering according to INCOSE standards (6-8h of lectures and directed works to 100 M1-M2 students of EE and Industrial Engineering departments of INSA Lyon)
- Introduction to Haptics and Teleoperation (2h of lecture to 15 PhD students of Doctoral School EEA Lyon)
- Introduction to Medical Robotics (2h of lecture to 30 M2 students at Ecole Centrale de Lyon)
Some former teachings:
- 2017-2022: Design of robotized cells and FANUC robot programing (lectures, labs and projects to 10 L3-M2 students of EE, IE and ME departments) to prepare them for the FANUC Olympiades national competition.
- Initiation to industrial robotics (35h of lectures and labs, to longlife training of 10 people) on Staubli robots.
- 2001-2022 Supervision of industrial projects performed by M1 students during 6 months in IE Dept.
Appointments
- In 2000-2001, he was Assistant Professor at the University of Montpellier, Faculté des Sciences, IUT Béziers, to teach Computer Networks.
- From 1997 to 2001, he was lecturer at CNAM Occitanie, teaching Automatic Control and Computer Networks
- From 2001 to 2021, he was Associate Professor at INSA Lyon. He teached Industrial Automated Systems, Industrial Robotics and Systems Engineering in the Industrial Engineering Department.
- From 2004 to 2008, he was also lecturer at CNAM Auvergne Rhône Alpes, teaching Realtime systems and Fieldbuses
- Since 2022, he has held a full professor position in the Electrical Engineering Department of INSA Lyon.
Responsabilities
- Since 2024, in charge of the “Engineering of Industrial Production Systems” option in EE department, level M2.
- Since 2022, elected member of the EE Department council
- Since 2022, in charge of the management of Foreign Missions of EE department apprentices
Creations
- 2022-2024 Participation to the design of a training module for the (INRS): “How to integrate the security during the design of collaborative robotic applications”.
- 2022 Redesign of the Real-Time System Programing training module, with the help of 2 colleagues: Romain Delpoux and Minh Tu Pham
- 2021 Production of 2 videos in the frame of the HybridINSA project:
— Presentation of the Automation platform of S.MART Auvergne Rhône Alpes Ouest
— Functioning of 2 industrial robots: a serial one (TX2-60) and a SCARA, both manufactured by Staubli.
